I booked a two-hour moving service to transfer items from the bottom flat to the top flat within the same property. In my job description, I clearly specified that it was a two-bedroom flat move, including boxes and furniture, excluding whiteware. The movers were punctual and arrived at the agreed time. However, after 90 minutes, they indicated they wanted to finish, stating they had worked hard to get everything done, even though they could have done it really slowly and taken 4 hours instead. There were still a few smaller items left, so I requested that they continued since the booking was for two hours. After some back and forth, they agreed to work for an additional 10 minutes. At the end of the job, they expected to be paid in cash, which had not been mentioned beforehand.

Thank you for your review, Angela. Upon our arrival at your premises, you indicated the items that needed to be moved. As per the job description, you clearly excluded whiteware, yet the first task we completed was moving the fridge-freezer to clear rubbish from underneath it. For your reference, a fridge-freezer is considered whiteware.
We proceeded to move the boxed items and furniture as instructed. Upon confirming the job, I explicitly stated that we would make every effort to complete the move efficiently and securely. Our team worked diligently and at a fast pace to move everything safely.
As we progressed, you requested that we move an additional furniture cabinet from the back of the laundry area, which was not initially shown to us. You agreed that this would incur an extra charge as it was not part of the original arrangement. Despite our best efforts to complete the job as quickly as possible, you subsequently changed your mind and began adding additional items that were not mentioned at the outset.
We had clearly stated from the beginning that we would only move the items shown to us initially, and we did manage to complete that portion of the job early, due to our hard work. Despite this, you did not pay the additional charges for the extra work you had requested.
As we neared the completion of the job, I asked about the payment method, and you made no mention of being unable to pay by bank transfer.
After completing more than 50 jobs, I have encountered clients who, like you, changed the agreed terms and ultimately attempted to treat us unfairly. Regarding the disassembly of furniture, you did not properly disassemble the cabinets and bed, yet you expected us to do so.
Finally, you altered your commitments after the job had commenced, made false promises regarding additional payment, and ultimately changed your mind after the work was done. I kindly request that you refrain from this behavior with other moving companies in the future, as we put in hard work and this is our hard-earned money through sweat and effort.
